Dead Pool bringing some loot...

With Dead Pool just around the corner hitting the big screen on Feb. 12th you know there will be a large amount of Marvel enthusiasts forking over the money to watch it. I will be taking my little to watch it on the 13th. He is a big Dead Pool fan and is totally excited to watch it. I'll be honest with you guys. I knew of Dead Pool in the comic world but not as much as I should of. Turns out this guy has all the character and charm he needs and backs it up with excellent fighting techniques. Although the program had many doctors the one I remember the most is Tom Baker. I don't know what it was about him that had me seriously focused on the program but he was definitely my favorite of the doctors. I haven't really been following the series since I was a little kid but I have read that they have had some spin offs like Torchwood that looks interesting but I really don't see myself running out and getting one just yet but I would accept it as a gift if anyone would be interested :)

A Good Concert...

My wife and I were honored to attend and support our youngest child at her second chorus concet at Bowsher High School. She and her group performed very well, the songs they chose were sung excellently. In case you're wondering which one is my kid - she's on the top row she's the third one from right to left. Their performance was very well put together and you can tell that they had a good time performing. As most of you might already know my wife is a very emotional person especially when it comes to watching her youngest perform on stage, well she had a few tears escape hence causing her to cry during the event. I'm proud of you Aubrey and I hope to see many more performances from you and your group.

General Motors has been actively researching continuous car-to-car data communication as a way of optimizing traffic flow and crash avoidance. GM's OnStar service provides a working basis for such a system. The ANT would be the ultimate expression of this sort of technology. It would act independently but do so while in continuous communication with other vehicles around it.
Within the vehicle itself, different parts, including body panels and wheels, could act independently, as well, but in communication with one another. This way, the ANT could change its shape to suit various needs. It could change from an aerodynamic speedster, for example, to a comfortable mobile office space.

This concept although very interesting would probably work better for my wife the blogger instead of me the web surfer/blogger. Reading the article it turns out it can turn into an office, which like I said would work better for my wife because she is a political junkie and blogging is what she does for a living. I can imagine what the price tag must be for something this creative.

I became a Red Sox fan even more this year because of my brother Chelo. He i definitely a die hard fan, my uncle from Boston has been a fan for pretty much his whole life. I am glad to have become a stronger fan to this excellent ball club, watching them play against the Indians brought me some memories of watching a game with my uncle when I was younger and I had gone to visit him for a week. I have been to Fenway before but it would be nice to go there with my uncle and my brother at the same time. Back to the past or maybe the future...

I just saw one of the famous DeLoreans go by me when I came back from lunch. Apparently one of the employees next door owns one, his is in really good shape considering the age of the car. Well when I got back to my desk I did a Google search on the car and found the video below. It turns out that they have a huge warehouse full of parts from fenders to engines. Illegals are just that illegal...

I can't take this anymore...
Everytime I hear these people talk it penetrates right down to the bone. Let me get some duct tape and wrap my head with it before I start my rant.
Okay - to all the illegals in Texas and anywhere else for that matter, WHERE COMING FOR YOU! The video link below will probably upset most of you like it did for me. If you are an illegal and you are driving with a fake license then you will be deported, if you are an illegal and you are caught breaking the law you will be deported, if you are an illegal and you get a traffic stop and your license is listed in a list of illegal immigrants then guess what YOU WILL BE DEPORTED. It may not seem fair to those who get caught but what about the immigrants that are taking the courses and paying their dues to become a "Legal" immigrant what about their fairness. These stories keep popping up and of course there's always someone on camera putting words together to make a sentence that only god can understand what the hell their trying to say defending the "rights" of illegals. Now that's an oxymoron for ya 'Illegal Rights'.

DALLAS (UPI) -- The father of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is dealing with prostate cancer. The Dallas Morning News Friday reported 50-year-old Ramiro Romo learned he had the illness late last season when his son developed into an NFL starting quarterback.

"He's your dad,' a worried Tony Romo told the newspaper after practice Thursday.
"Tony and his dad, they really have a good relationship," said tight end Jason Witten. 'I don't think he wants Tony to think a lot about it or want him losing his concentration. But they're best friends, so that makes it harder."

The report added Ramiro Romo is supposed to have surgery, but details of his diagnosis were not available, and a surgery date was not disclosed. Tony Romo said he expects his father to be in the stands at Texas Stadium in Irving when the unbeaten Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots clash Sunday afternoon.

A day that can be better...

I woke up this morning with a huge headache and I couldn't shake it no matter what I tried. I finally took about four pills and thus far it seems to have worked. I spent most of my time in my office away from the warehouse (where I do most of work) to try and keep my head away from loud noises. I feel a little better right now so I'm going to try and work out back for a few hours and see if the headache stays away. Just as soon as work is out I plan on going home and resting for a few minutes.
Yes I'm whining.

Common Sense that's all...

Watching this video I couldn't help but remember the post I did awhile ago about a man getting shanked with a twelve inch horn in his leg. This kid although very talented or in my opinion very stupid is facing a pissed-off bull while learning the steps as a bull fighter. You know that's great to have the sense of fear be stripped away and the sense of control takes over your complete body but when that bull decides to give you an extra hole you didn't have before don't come complaining to the trainers that it hurts.

I told you so...

Last night's game between the 49ers and Cardinals was definitely worth watching. There's nothing like sitting at home watching your team kick some butt while you enjoy a nice spread of finger sandwiches. I knew I that the next morning was going to be hard for those who didn't choose SF on the picks list, they hardly ever pick them because of their record of wins to losses. Well this season is definitely going to be a different scenario for the league. The 49ers will get the respect that they once carried proudly.

Let's legalize it...

The statement above is one that many of my coworkers believe should be done through out the US when it comes to marijuana. I can agree to a point, yes legalizing it and then taxing the heck out of it would bring some extra money maybe some added crime as well. My only problem with the legalizing of it is that even though it is such a highly used product many of the customers buy it in secrecy because the last thing they want is for someone to know that they are smoking it. The argument stood at that beer and alcohol has just as much of an impairment as marijuana and those seem to sell pretty easy. My only answer to that was that the two beverages have been in the system for so long now that when you see a coworker or even your boss walk out with a case of beer or even a brown bagged liquor bottle you don't necessarily deem them a danger, you automatically assume they are going to either have a party or just a small social meeting with some friends. I can assure that even if it was legalized not many people will quickly head out to buy some for the fact that they don't want to run into some friends that might think of them as one of those people. If you legalize it make sure that it follows the same standards as cigarettes and cigars, actually let me correct that make sure you don't smoke them anywhere except your home - Why? Because having a smoke break at work with smokes is not the same as having a smoke break at work with a joint. Ah heck keep the darn thing illegal because the last thing you want is some knuckle head come in to a convenience store and ask where it came from then have the clerk not know and god forbid someone buys something homegrown.

Not Old School at all...

90-year-old Estelle Rees-Arroyo is one of Sacramento State's new students, she's also the University's oldest student.

All I can say is that for a woman of her age still wanting to continue her education is something that has to be respected and honored. My question is with her being 90 years old can she input some data on her past that might add to the class lessons. I would be more then honored to have her in my class, I would definitely ask her some questions regarding what her past was like and did she come across anyone that might of influenced her in the slightest bit. My hat goes off to her for continueing her education especially at her age.

It's that time again...

That's right folks - I have to clean the pool today and that my dear friends is not a happy job. I have to buy a few products tonight that will help me get that sparkling look back inside my pool. I have a problem with keeping this thing tip top on a daily basis. I am planning on doing some house work tomorrow including the mounting of an outside light for the back yard. I'm sure I will have a few other 'concerns' pop up throughout the day but like I always do, I'll get to it when I get to it.

A Collector's Dream...

Reading the New London Day paper online I came across an article that brought back some memories of when I was in Junior High and our art class had a trip to the Lyman Allyn Art Museum in New London, CT. We toured the many artful pieces but what caught my eye was the huge doll houses that they had on the lower level. These houses were pretty big and each of them were completely furnished for the era of the home. The attention to detail was and is quite remarkable. It's nice to hear that they are going to have them out for viewing this year - the dates are as follows;

Of Interest...

This statue currently stands outside the Iraqi palace, now home to the 4th Infantry division. It will eventually be shipped home and put in the memorial museum in Fort Hood, TX.

The statue was created by an Iraqi artist named Kalat who for years was forced by Saddam Hussein to make the many hundreds of bronze busts of Saddam that dotted Baghdad. Kalat was so grateful for the Americans liberation of his country; he melted 3 of the heads of the fallen Saddam and made the statue as a memorial to the American soldiers and their fallen warriors. Kalat worked on this memorial night and day for several months.

To the left of the kneeling soldier is a small Iraqi girl giving the soldier comfort as he mourns the loss of his comrade in arms. Do you know why we don't hear about this in the news? Because it is heart warming and praise worthy. The media avoids it because it does not have the shock effect. But we can do something about it.

We can pass this along to as many people as we can in honor of all our brave military personnel who are making a difference each and every day by simply mentioning this post or even talking about it with your friends and family.

An interesting find...

I came across this the other day when my friend at work sent it to me and I didn't open it right away. It seems to be keeping track of the world's population including both death and birth. It also has a count on how many are dying of certain diseases. Check it out and notice that the deaths and the births are almost in sync with each other.

One of our own is caught...

Andrew Butler and a friend of his (Christopher Avery) were accused of robbing the Valley Central Savings Bank in Reading. Apparently this young man was having issues with his financial status. I am puzzled as to why he and his friend didn't go together to a financial office and talk to an advisor before trying to rob a bank. They could of found some sort of grant or loan program that could of helped them out with their situation.

"He just really was struggling, working two jobs here, you know, temp jobs, two jobs and trying to get the money," said Franki Butler mother of Andrew Butler.

I currently have three daughters who attend college and because of my income an their income they qualify for loans that can help them get their education and land a great job so that they can repay the debt. I hope that when their case comes forward that the judge handling it will see that even though they did rob a bank their intentions were to finish their dream of attending and gaining what college life had to offer. Mr. Avery was able to post the bond of $50,000 in order to be released, if the money was either gathered up among family and friends or maybe a loan was given then why didn't this young man ask those same individuals for the cash that would been needed to further his education and college lifestyle. I can pretty much guarantee that the amount that both he and Mr. Butler were in need of wasn't even close to $50,000. Mr. Butler remains in the Hamilton County jail.

I'll buy that for a dollar...

A common phrase used back in the late eighties and early nineties. My sister called me today and asked me if I was interested in purchasing a home for $1. She mentioned that it had a waterfront view, quiet neighborhood and definitely had an independent look to it. Well after I heard all the pros she then continued to give me the cons of the house.
