What Happened...

It came and went, Superbowl 50. Wow, a game to remember. The predictions about the game's outcome was everywhere. There were birds picking the winning team. Two old couples throwing ping pong balls into a cup and the winner's team would be the champs. Several inside bets and taunts in many workplaces that some got out of hand. Nonetheless the Broncos have won and it was an interesting game to say the least. Many mistakes were made on both sides and lots of missed opportunities as well. Regardless to which team you wanted to win it was a nice time spent with friends and family. Yeah there were a few idiots that had to celebrate a bit too much but let's hope they spent some time in jail reflecting on what that caused chaos proved. Hope everyone enjoyed the game I know I did. Maybe this coming year the 49ers will be in a decent spot; well maybe. :)

WWE looking for a boost...

How will WWE look to generate momentum before the Royal Rumble? What bouts will the company add to the card? Injury reports, backstage updates and James Wortman's five-point preview on WWE.com offer plenty of answers. [(Bleacher Report)] Good afternoon all, I have been trying to get back onto the drama scene that is the WWE. Since my brother went to Florida I've been trying to watch it and although he isn't here it kinda feels like he is. With that aside let's talk about the Royal Rumble that is coming up shortly. So far a nice and interesting names have been entered into the rumble. Seeing Brock Lesnar come back a week ago and pretty much making his presence known - I would have to go ahead and say that the match will definitely be interesting. Like I stated in the title - WWE will have to put up a really good show tonight to get the viewers hyped up about the Rumble. I didn't know the superstars were on tour in India but now they're back and it just might get to the point where we will have a few matches that aren't repetitive. For awhile there they had some of the stars going up against each other for weeks that didn't really have a point to it other than "Lets' get something on TV". I'm looking forward to tonight's show with the hopes of seeing something different and amazing. f0246bb7ce1b76e1d6f6c4f068f14f6147465adc4966a0b099

Interesting turn of events...

(CNN)It's official. From January 1, 2016 China will allow two children for every couple. Chinese lawmakers rubber-stamped the new legislation Sunday during a session of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, which governs the country's laws, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

"The state advocates that one couple shall be allowed to have two children," according to the newly revised Law on Population and Family Planning.

With China's logic of needing/wanting a younger and larger workforce for their still growing economy the added child act/law might be good news to some families who have wanted to have two kids. When reading some of the reports that some couples were forced to have abortions and or fined large monetary sums I couldn't believe that this kind of legislation existed. Like Japan's population China is finding themselves having trouble with some of their food sources. I'm going to give this a place on the back burner and se where things are in about six months - both food supply and the added child act.

Chip of the Rock...

Dwayne Johnson - “Christmas came early! Within minutes of being born she was laying on daddy’s chest. And being a grateful man takes on a whole new meaning ...,” he captioned the photo. “Thank you guys so much for the awesome congratulatory wishes and love you’ve been sending @laurenhashianofficial and myself. We’re extremely grateful.” Watching Dwayne go from complete rookie in WWE to what he has become now. A great character on and off camera. I have enjoyed several of his movies and found them to be entertaining. I have to be honest though, Scorpion King was a bit "ok" but we have to remember that this film was his first showing so I can't slam him too hard. What I am enjoying is a show called "Ballers" on HBO. It's a different side to the big teddy bear but very enjoyable to watch. Congrats to you and yours Dwayne - God Bless. MR

12/17/2015 - He's Gone...

Good morning all; My brother has come and gone. He came here from Puerto Rico to start on a different adventure that would bring him unthinkable experiences. I was more then happy to lend a helping hand when he needed it. The economy in P.R. has been looking dark for quite some time now. When my brother asked if I can help him start fresh here in the States I was more forced to remind him about his tropical surroundings and that it will not follow him here to Ohio. He spent a total of two months here. In that time frame he was able to find a job with Bluflame and made some really good friends. He has mentioned to me that he will never forget them but first and foremost he will never forget the opportunity that I was able to give him. I will miss him but plan on visiting him next year, god willing. MR

Super Tuesday

Yes, I know this post is a bit late but from what I've been watching throughout the day it looks like the outcome will surprise a few people. I voted for Ron Paul and even if he doesn't get the nod from the party I would like to keep my integrity in place. Especially knowing that we might end up with Romney any how. For the many of you who voted today I would like to thank you very much for exercising you right to vote and for those of you who didn't because you just didn't feel like it can continue to do what you normally do "nothing". Can't wait to wake up tomorrow and see the results. I will have a follow up post of the outcome including the local ones.

We must remember...

As most of you may have heard, there have been some amazing breakthroughs this past month in linking certain genes to Alzheimer's, but there is still a lot of work to be done. This year, the first of the Boomer Generation turns 65. To bring urgently-needed attention to the risk facing the Boomers, Alzheimer's Association released a groundbreaking study, Generation Alzheimer's: The Defining Disease of the Baby Boomers.

The information you read is just the beginning of what has been discovered. Please take a few minutes of your time and do some homework on the ever growing problem of Alzheimer's.

Not bad at all...

Okay, while watching a show called Detroit 187 I came across an ad for Duracell. The image you see to the left is the product I'm talking about. No Duracell did not come out with a new phone or any phone for that matter. What they did come out with is much better then that. I present to you the Duracell MyGrid - from what I've read this pad charges up to three phones by simply placing the phones on the pad. I say three because I believe you can only put three on it before it becomes a bit crowded. Now, in my household there are five people - so that means five different chargers for five different phones. I strongly believe that if three of these phones are on this pad and two are traditionally plugged in then that's a good thing. Why you ask - well that means that there would be three less cords plugged in to outlets throughout the house. Check it out and let me know if you bought one by leaving a comment.

Going Under...

Fresno, California - A story that will not amaze me now or ever, this man has done what most homeless people haven't thought of yet. Bruce Stacy a homeless carpenter has dug himself a home underground where he lives and spends his time away from the elements. Apparently he has built himself a few of these before in the past. Although the video below doesn't mention where they are or what has happened to them it looks like Mr. Stacy has improved his work where he even has an escape tunnel when ever some one approaches that is of the unfamiliar kind. The percentage of homeless people is rising at a record pace, we need to help those in need until they are able to get back on their feet financially and spiritually.

The Farm...

I went to MacQueens farm yesterday to find myself buying some nice size apples and of course their specialty donuts for my wife and my daughter. The day was pretty nice and it was rather warm out. The view of fall in the trees surrounding the farm was a thing of beauty. As you can see I took some pictures of the products being sold at the market. The colors in that picture are just a few of what I saw at the market. If any of you are within the area and you know of this farm please stop by before the cold hits and walk through the apple trees and select your own apples, the experience is unforgettable.

A Good Concert...

My wife and I were honored to attend and support our youngest child at her second chorus concet at Bowsher High School. She and her group performed very well, the songs they chose were sung excellently. In case you're wondering which one is my kid - she's on the top row she's the third one from right to left. Their performance was very well put together and you can tell that they had a good time performing. As most of you might already know my wife is a very emotional person especially when it comes to watching her youngest perform on stage, well she had a few tears escape hence causing her to cry during the event. I'm proud of you Aubrey and I hope to see many more performances from you and your group.

Volunteers to honor...

While watching the news last night and again tonight online I want to send a special thank you to the couple that have taken the time to take the course and passing it with such a passion for the safety of their fellow neighbor and stranger. That couple is none other than Rick and Lynn Melchert. Thank you for taking the time to help the police force by offering your time and energy. What we need here in Toledo is something similar to what they have done but with the police vehicle problem we have this wonderful program won't work all that good here, but it would be nice for Toledo to look into it.

An excellent opinion...

It all seems to be coming together now, at just the right time, much as it did in 2004 after the Red Sox staged the greatest comeback in the history of sports to vanquish the Yankees in that year’s ALCS.
The comment above is that of Corey Fyke Day Staff Writer , his piece on the past and present of Boston's standings are true to the fact. I became a Red Sox fan even more this year because of my brother Chelo. He i definitely a die hard fan, my uncle from Boston has been a fan for pretty much his whole life. I am glad to have become a stronger fan to this excellent ball club, watching them play against the Indians brought me some memories of watching a game with my uncle when I was younger and I had gone to visit him for a week. I have been to Fenway before but it would be nice to go there with my uncle and my brother at the same time. Read Mr. Fyke's complete article by clicking on the link at the bottom labeled 'Article', his entry is a definite read don't miss it.

Rush on top of things...

Philanthropist Betty Casey won the Harry Reid "phony soldiers" smear letter with a $2,100,100 donation to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation (MC-LEF.org). Rush matched that donation with $2,100,100 of his own money. The Democrats donated $0 to the children of our fallen heroes. I was hoping to see Harry himself throw in some cash for the cause but of course he would much rather try to make it look like he and Rush were in on this the whole time by asking those who were listening to him to participate in the bid because after all it was for the kids. What a loser.

A courthouse that can not go away...

I posted about this back in July of this year, back then the talk was to bring down the old courthouse that has been around since 1884. It hit the news again today and Rep. Peter Ujvagi (D., Toledo), is working on potential sources to help fund restoration of the vacant courthouse and possibly other courthouses across the state. Mr. Ujvagi is looking at a menu of possible legislative options, including creation of a Texas-style commission to help finance courthouse restoration, a business tax credit to encourage private investment, and capital-budget funding. This courthouse is one of many throughout our state that will potentially meet a fate that is completely opposite from its' opening day. Let hope that a course is taken before such a historical landmark is destroyed.

Game 5 goes to the Red Sox

MLB: Boston 7, Cleveland 1
CLEVELAND (UPI) -- Josh Beckett extended Boston's season, allowing a lone run over eight innings Thursday night, as the Red Sox downed Cleveland, 7-1. Boston reduced its deficit in the American League Championship Series to 3-2, and will try to square things when the action resumes Saturday in Fenway Park. Beckett, the winning pitcher in the series opener, gave up five hits and struck out 11, while throwing 74 of 109 pitches for strikes. He again got the best of Cleveland's C.C. Sabathia, who surrendered four runs on 10 hits in six innings.
Manny Ramirez, who drew criticism from Boston fans for saying it "would not be the end of the world" if the Red Sox do not win the AL title, singled in the go-ahead run in the third. Kevin Youkilis drove in three Boston runs with a solo homer in the first, a triple during a two-run seventh and a bases-loaded walk as part of a three-run eighth.
Curt Schilling will pitch for the Red Sox in Game 6 Saturday. Fausto Carmona will get the start for the Indians.

A new member...

Today at 6:02 am a new member was brought into the family. Annika Grace Birukow is her name and having a killer gripping hands is her game. This post goes out to my son and daughter in law, congrats and welcome to the world of parenting.
:)
Of course I had to hold the baby as you can see. Hold a new life in my arms felt really good, it gave me a real sense of how life can be fragile at first but as the years go on you find yourself feeling invincible. God bless you Annika and I love you.

Game 3 goes to the Indians...

MLB: Cleveland 4, Boston 2

Winning pitcher Jake Westbrook worked 6 2/3 innings. He gave up seven hits including a two-run homer by Jason Varitek in the seventh inning and three walks.
Lofton hit his home run in the second inning. Cleveland got its other two runs in the fifth. Asdrubal Cabrera singled to drive in Casey Blake for a 3-0 lead. Travis Hafner then beat out a potential double play as Grady Sizemore scored for a 4-0 lead.
Daisuke Matsuzaka suffered the loss, giving up all four runs on six hits with two walks and six strikeouts.

Illegals are just that illegal...

I can't take this anymore...
Everytime I hear these people talk it penetrates right down to the bone. Let me get some duct tape and wrap my head with it before I start my rant.
Okay - to all the illegals in Texas and anywhere else for that matter, WHERE COMING FOR YOU! The video link below will probably upset most of you like it did for me. If you are an illegal and you are driving with a fake license then you will be deported, if you are an illegal and you are caught breaking the law you will be deported, if you are an illegal and you get a traffic stop and your license is listed in a list of illegal immigrants then guess what YOU WILL BE DEPORTED. It may not seem fair to those who get caught but what about the immigrants that are taking the courses and paying their dues to become a "Legal" immigrant what about their fairness. These stories keep popping up and of course there's always someone on camera putting words together to make a sentence that only god can understand what the hell their trying to say defending the "rights" of illegals. Now that's an oxymoron for ya 'Illegal Rights'.
I need more duct tape...
