Interesting turn of events...

(CNN)It's official. From January 1, 2016 China will allow two children for every couple. Chinese lawmakers rubber-stamped the new legislation Sunday during a session of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, which governs the country's laws, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

"The state advocates that one couple shall be allowed to have two children," according to the newly revised Law on Population and Family Planning.

With China's logic of needing/wanting a younger and larger workforce for their still growing economy the added child act/law might be good news to some families who have wanted to have two kids. When reading some of the reports that some couples were forced to have abortions and or fined large monetary sums I couldn't believe that this kind of legislation existed. Like Japan's population China is finding themselves having trouble with some of their food sources. I'm going to give this a place on the back burner and se where things are in about six months - both food supply and the added child act.

Jermain Trail

Went on a nice three mile walk today at the Jermain Trail in Toledo. It's literally five minutes away from home. It is meant for mount-bikers but I figured why not walk it and see how bad it really is. Well seeing that I'm not a natural hiker this course did a nice number on me. I'm a pretty big guy at 296 lbs so I figured why not throw in an additional 25 lbs in a backpack for added resistance. When I got done I felt better about myself and my body felt really tired but good. When I took the backpack off I felt so light on my feet. If I would of known about this trail during the summer I think I would of been on it a few more times. With Winter just around the corner the "warm" days are coming to an end. If I'm able to squeeze in a few more hikes I'll try to take some pics throughout the walk.

The Farm...

I went to MacQueens farm yesterday to find myself buying some nice size apples and of course their specialty donuts for my wife and my daughter. The day was pretty nice and it was rather warm out. The view of fall in the trees surrounding the farm was a thing of beauty. As you can see I took some pictures of the products being sold at the market. The colors in that picture are just a few of what I saw at the market. If any of you are within the area and you know of this farm please stop by before the cold hits and walk through the apple trees and select your own apples, the experience is unforgettable.

Volunteers to honor...

While watching the news last night and again tonight online I want to send a special thank you to the couple that have taken the time to take the course and passing it with such a passion for the safety of their fellow neighbor and stranger. That couple is none other than Rick and Lynn Melchert. Thank you for taking the time to help the police force by offering your time and energy. What we need here in Toledo is something similar to what they have done but with the police vehicle problem we have this wonderful program won't work all that good here, but it would be nice for Toledo to look into it.

Rush on top of things...

Philanthropist Betty Casey won the Harry Reid "phony soldiers" smear letter with a $2,100,100 donation to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation (MC-LEF.org). Rush matched that donation with $2,100,100 of his own money. The Democrats donated $0 to the children of our fallen heroes. I was hoping to see Harry himself throw in some cash for the cause but of course he would much rather try to make it look like he and Rush were in on this the whole time by asking those who were listening to him to participate in the bid because after all it was for the kids. What a loser.

A new member...

Today at 6:02 am a new member was brought into the family. Annika Grace Birukow is her name and having a killer gripping hands is her game. This post goes out to my son and daughter in law, congrats and welcome to the world of parenting.

Of course I had to hold the baby as you can see. Hold a new life in my arms felt really good, it gave me a real sense of how life can be fragile at first but as the years go on you find yourself feeling invincible. God bless you Annika and I love you.

DALLAS (UPI) -- The father of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is dealing with prostate cancer. The Dallas Morning News Friday reported 50-year-old Ramiro Romo learned he had the illness late last season when his son developed into an NFL starting quarterback.

"He's your dad,' a worried Tony Romo told the newspaper after practice Thursday.
"Tony and his dad, they really have a good relationship," said tight end Jason Witten. 'I don't think he wants Tony to think a lot about it or want him losing his concentration. But they're best friends, so that makes it harder."

The report added Ramiro Romo is supposed to have surgery, but details of his diagnosis were not available, and a surgery date was not disclosed. Tony Romo said he expects his father to be in the stands at Texas Stadium in Irving when the unbeaten Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots clash Sunday afternoon.

Let's legalize it...

The statement above is one that many of my coworkers believe should be done through out the US when it comes to marijuana. I can agree to a point, yes legalizing it and then taxing the heck out of it would bring some extra money maybe some added crime as well. My only problem with the legalizing of it is that even though it is such a highly used product many of the customers buy it in secrecy because the last thing they want is for someone to know that they are smoking it. The argument stood at that beer and alcohol has just as much of an impairment as marijuana and those seem to sell pretty easy. My only answer to that was that the two beverages have been in the system for so long now that when you see a coworker or even your boss walk out with a case of beer or even a brown bagged liquor bottle you don't necessarily deem them a danger, you automatically assume they are going to either have a party or just a small social meeting with some friends. I can assure that even if it was legalized not many people will quickly head out to buy some for the fact that they don't want to run into some friends that might think of them as one of those people. If you legalize it make sure that it follows the same standards as cigarettes and cigars, actually let me correct that make sure you don't smoke them anywhere except your home - Why? Because having a smoke break at work with smokes is not the same as having a smoke break at work with a joint. Ah heck keep the darn thing illegal because the last thing you want is some knuckle head come in to a convenience store and ask where it came from then have the clerk not know and god forbid someone buys something homegrown.

It's that time again...

That's right folks - I have to clean the pool today and that my dear friends is not a happy job. I have to buy a few products tonight that will help me get that sparkling look back inside my pool. I have a problem with keeping this thing tip top on a daily basis. I am planning on doing some house work tomorrow including the mounting of an outside light for the back yard. I'm sure I will have a few other 'concerns' pop up throughout the day but like I always do, I'll get to it when I get to it.

I've Seen Her Before...

ATLANTA -- An Atlanta-based flight attendant for Atlantic Southeast Airlines faces charges of getting high before leaving the ground.

I don't know exactly where but I have seen this woman before, she looks familiar for some reason. Her name does not bring up any memories but I know for a fact that I have seen her before but for the life of me I can not remember, and no I did not fly the airline that she worked for. Oh well either way click on the the title and watch the video of this woman - she is totally out of it. I'm surprised no one noticed before she got on the plane.

From 1906 to 2007

Rollie Stiles dubbed "Oldest ex-major leaguer" died Sunday morning during his sleep. Born Nov. 17, 1906, in Ratcliff, Ark. this man has done it all, he started out playing for the St. Louis Browns as their pitcher in 1930, 31 and 33.
"A modest and graceful man grateful for his baseball career", said Emmett McAuliffe, a board member of the St. Louis Browns fan club and a friend of Stiles. I used to follow baseball for awhile but I never was really into it. My brother is visiting for about two weeks and he is a die hard Boston RedSox fan, I followed the Red Sox when I was younger but was turned away when I started to watch the NBA and the Chicago Bulls. My brother is currently getting me back into the game and I'm finding myself actually enjoying it. Last night we heard the Red Sox and Indians game on the radio (no cable) and he and I were excited to hear the play by play calls and of course the Sox winning it 6-2. I am going to fill in the void that was created when I became a basketball fan with a lot information on the game of baseball and I'm going to try and memorize the names and numbers of the players as well.
My heart goes out to the family friends and fans of this wonderful man that has really made a difference in the way he lived his life as well as those who spent their time around him.

Run, Walk or Stand - I can still see you...

GPS Sneakers are being introduced and from what I read in many articles consumers think it's about time that this has surfaced while others think this is just another item that can be altered and miss used. I kind of see them as a good and a bad thing. Good because the person wearing them can be easily tracked if something is wrong. I can also see this as a problem especially if the person committing the crime knows about it and simply removes the shoes and tosses them into a moving vehicle. Not too long ago there were articles regarding "The Mark of The Beast", I read a lot about it and found myself agreeing with this technology. In my opinion I would love to be able to find my loved ones if a kidnapping takes place. I know most of you don't and won't agree with it but I do not want to go a whole 24hrs before I can get some help locating those close to me. 24 hrs means an eternity of suffering and doubt of your loved ones possible return. I do not want to experience that, many families lose loved ones for more than a day, some go missing for weeks before found either alive or dead. This device will enable me to find and save them and hopefully catch the bastard and unleash hell on him or her. I'll let my wife take care of the female if one is found to be guilty.

Sports Cream to blame?

Reading an article titled "Muscle cream caused NYC teen's death" sounds like there should be a recall of some type, but it turns out that the young lady probably over used the very well known and popular brand BenGay. I had a tough time reading the article because the family is very health orientated and they seem to follow a certain guideline on how health and fitness should be followed and respected. I find myself using the very same product after working out but because of the smell of it I don't put on as much. I have read the labels before but it's still hard to grasp the fact that a healthy young lady died from it. My heart goes out to the family and friends.
